Serving notice of industrial action? I vote for eliminating the unions in infrastructure related jobs such as the airports.

The DAA said the stated reason for the industrial action was the non-payment of increases due under the national wage agreement negotiated last autumn, as well as certain increments.

WTF?….With unemployment rising to 10%, these effing idiots are lucky to have jobs. I left Ireland in 94 and I remember the focus on tourism during those years and the interim years and actions such as this one are not in the national interest. Who wants to visit a country where you are not sure if you can get in or out due to a dispute. This during a time where there should be a huge focus on tourism because of the downturn elsewhere in the economy.

Thankfully, its a quick boat ride to England after you go to the hassle of changing your plans to fly out of or into one of the English airports.  I don’t believe I just said that but it is true.
